Addison was born in New York City and studied with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse. She made her soap opera debut in 1969 as Kit Vestid on Guiding Light. She played the role for five years before moving to Ryan’s Hope in 1975. Addison remained on Ryan’s Hope for twelve years, until the show ended in 1989.
