Dick Miller (December 25, 1928 – January 30, 2019) was an American actor, screenwriter, and director. Roger Corman directed him in low-budget and independent films, making him best known for his appearances in them.
His main roles were in films such as Gremlins, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Explorers, Piranha, The Howling, A Bucket of Blood, The Little Shop of Horrors, Chopping Mall, Night of the Creeps, The Terminator, The ‘Burbs and Small Soldiers.

Dick Miller Career
Miller began his acting career in the 1950s, appearing in a number of films directed by Roger Corman, including “Apache Woman” (1955), “Not of This Earth” (1957), and “A Bucket of Blood” (1959). He also appeared in other B-movies such as “The Terror” (1963) and “The Wild Angels” (1966).
In addition to his work as an actor, Miller also worked as a screenwriter and wrote several films, including “The Little Shop of Horrors” (1960) and “Bucket of Blood” (1959). He also appeared in several TV shows, including “The Twilight Zone,” “The X-Files,” and “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”
Miller continued to act well into his later years, appearing in films such as “Gremlins” (1984) and “The Terminator” (1984), as well as in TV shows like “Fame” and “ER.”
Director Joe Dante collaborated with him and he appeared in several of Dante’s films, including “The Howling” (1981), “Gremlins” (1984), “Explorers” (1985), and “Small Soldiers” (1998).
