He is a prominent American journalist who currently serving as a correspondent for the PBS NewsHour. His association with the program began in 2015, and his career has been marked by in-depth reporting on a wide range of topics, including critical issues such as the Syrian refugee crisis, the opioid epidemic, and cases of sexual assault within the U.S. Forest Service.
Brangham’s journey in journalism commenced as a research assistant and progressed to roles as an associate producer and field producer for several Bill Moyers documentaries in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Some of these noteworthy documentaries include “Listening to America with Bill Moyers,” “Close to Home: Moyers on Addiction,” and “On Our Own Terms: Moyers on Dying in America.”
In 2007, Brangham joined the PBS magazine show “Need to Know” as a producer, cameraman, and occasional correspondent. During this time, he also took on the role of an adjunct professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism for a year. In June 2013, he became part of the weekend edition of PBS NewsHour as a producer, correspondent, and occasional substitute anchor.
Throughout his career, Brangham’s reporting has taken him across the United States and abroad, including countries such as Germany, Denmark, France, and Iran.
