Rick Devens Biography

Rick Devens is a television personality and journalist. Who is best known for his appearance on the reality TV show Survivor.

Devens was one of the five finalists of the Season 38. Survivor: Edge of Extinction which premiered on February 20, 2019. Along with Lauren O’Connell, Julie Rosenberg, Gavin Whitson. Victoria Baamondem, and Chris Underwood who joined on the 38th day. They fought for the title of “Sole Survivor” and the grand prize of US$1,000,000 on the series season finale that aired on 15th May 2019.

Rick attended Virginia Tech from where she graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in creative writing.

He landed his first television job as a tape editor at WSLS in Roanoke, VA while attending the school. After his graduation in 2006, Deven accepted a job as a commercial producer at WGXA. He began reporting for the ‘Midnight Blitz’ Friday night football show and finally served as a promotions producer. Weekend sports anchor, news reporter, and sports director before finding his spot on the WGXA Morning News.

Rick Devens is a former news anchor. Who became well-known as a contestant on the 38th season of the reality television show “Survivor.” The season, titled “Survivor: Edge of Extinction,” premiered on February 20, 2019. And was filmed in the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji.

Rick was initially placed on the Manu tribe and formed alliances with several other players. Including David Wright and Wendy Diaz. He also found a hidden immunity idol and used it to save himself from elimination at the first Tribal Council.

After a tribe swap, Rick found himself on the Kama tribe. Where he formed alliances with several players, including Ron Clark and Julie Rosenberg. However, he was eventually voted out of the game on Day 14.

Rick was then sent to the Edge of Extinction. A twist in the game where eliminated players could live on a separate island. And potentially earn the opportunity to return to the game. He was the second player to arrive on the Edge of Extinction and quickly became a fan favorite. Thanks to his outgoing personality and strategic gameplay.

On Day 22, Rick won the first “Edge of Extinction” challenge, giving him the opportunity to re-enter the game. He returned to the game on Day 25 and immediately became a target due to his threat level. However, he managed to win several immunity challenges and found a second hidden immunity idol, which he used to save himself from elimination on Day 34.

Rick’s strategic gameplay and likable personality made him a popular player with fans and he was a major contender to win the game. However, he was voted out again on Day 37, sending him back to the Edge of Extinction.

Once again, Rick managed to win his way back into the game, winning the final “Edge of Extinction” challenge on Day 37.

He made it to the final four but was ultimately voted out on Day 38, just shy of the final Tribal Council. Despite not winning the game, Rick’s memorable gameplay and likable personality earned him a large following of fans.
