It is based on the vehicular combat video game franchise of the same name published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The series stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Neve Campbell, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett, and Samoa Joe.
The series follows a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With a motley crew of misfits at his side, he must survive an onslaught of brutal vehicular combat.
A mysterious delivery brings a group of people together, with the potential to change their lives forever. The series is expected to explore the themes of survival, redemption, and the power of hope in a dark and gritty take on the Twisted Metal franchise, in a world where everything has been lost.
